As everyone tries to figure out what happened surrounding the death of Brittany Murphy yesterday, it has been ruled that there is no evidence of any foul play.

The Los Angeles Police Department has conducted and concluded a preliminary investigation into the “8 Mile” actress’ passing and sees no sign that anything criminal occurred.

At this point, the LAPD is waiting for the results of Murphy’s autopsy which is currently being conducted by the Coroner’s office.

The Coroner will determine the official cause of death (thought to be cardiac arrest) as well as ascertain any blood toxicology results.

Making the most of a brisk Sunday afternoon, Ashlee Simpson was spotted out and about in New York City yesterday (December 20).

The “Pieces of Me” songstress looked winter-ready as she sported a black coat with a matching knit hat and a yummy warm Starbucks beverage.

Ashlee will be spending the holidays in the Big Apple along with her sister Jessica, father Joe, and mother Tina, as she’s in the middle of a Broadway gig.

And it looks like the folks over at the “Chicago” scheduling office gave Ms. Simpson a lighter load of performances this week, with a day off on Christmas Eve.  But she’ll be back on stage Christmas night at 8pm as the show must go on!

Looking quite dapper, the Real Madrid star dropped into a local restaurant to meet up with a few friends for a relaxing bite to eat.

Meanwhile, Cristiano recently spoke up about the importance of his team staying focused during the holidays – as the season resumes again on January 2 after the winter break.

“It was important to seal the year with a victory, so we are happy about that. We must all now think of the New Year, which we should start as well as we’ve ended this one,” Ronaldo said.

The 24-year-old continued, “I’m working well and I want to carry on this way until the end of the season. I’m doing better every day. I missed two months and coming back was difficult, but things are working out for me.”

Ready to take their love to the next level, Carrie Underwood has gotten engaged to her hockey star beau Mike Fisher.

Following rumors of the engagement, Fisher confirmed the story, telling, “It’s true. We’re both obviously excited and very happy.”

Miss Underwood and Mr Fisher have been dating for a year, having first been introduced at a concert in Toronto in October 2008.

Meanwhile,Carrie was forced to deny report that she and Fisher moved in together just this past month, saying, “I read something recently that a certain someone and I were moving in together. This is beyond not true…just another example of people making stuff up out of thin air!”

Sticking with her usual holiday routine, Shakira was spotted enjoying her vacation with boyfriend Antonio De La Rua at her farm “La Colorada” in Uruguay on Monday (December 21).

The Colombian singer looked completely relaxed as she strolled the grassy grounds while taking a break from her songwriting duties.

In related news, Shakira recently confessed that she has a soft spot for chocolate treats – which provides a bit of balance to her intense fitness sessions.

She tells, “I think it is important that you are in balance. I really like to eat, I love chocolate and all kinds of sweets. I’m absolutely addicted to it.”

Joined by her husband Len Wiseman and daughter Lily, the “Serendipity” actress looked to be having a marvelous time as she stopped into several stores looking for gifts.

Ms. Beckinsale had quite the busy weekend, as she was spotted out at Kate Hudson’s special end-of-year party at her Los Angeles home.

Kate mingled with the likes of Kurt Russell, Goldie Hawn, Tobey Maguire, Rachel Zoe, and lovebirds Josh Duhamel and Fergie.

Despite the wishes of her husband Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles County Coroner has begun an autopsy examination on the late Brittany Murphy’s body.

According to a report, Murphy was feeling very ill prior to her passing and was taking multiple prescription medications for her ailment.

Furthermore, inside sources have revealed that there were many different prescription medications found inside Murphy’s home, which was once owned by Britney Spears.

Brittany passed away yesterday morning (December 20) after her mother found her in the bathtub and paramedics were unable to revive her.
